Pulsed Radiofrequency as a Standalone Treatment for Adhesive Capsulitis

Adhesive capsulitis is a pathology that affects the shoulder and can have particularly long disabling course. The usual therapies are treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) painkillers, steroid injections, physiotherapy, surgical treatment. This case report describes effect of single pulsed radiofrequency suprascapular nerve in diabetic patient affected by this pathology, for whom injections were contraindicated. Three weeks after treatment, reduction pain improvement ROM (range movement) allowed to start an adequate physiotherapy which was not feasible until moment due severe despite NSAIDS therapy. peculiarity work consists accurate measure impact analgesic alone improving muscular activation patient. able correctly perform only once reduced, PRF (pulsed radio frequency) study has two limitations: being prospective randomized study, observing kinematic aspects limited period time.
